This directional headband microphone is suitable for situations where the voice must remain clear despite a noisy background, such as on stage, at conferences, in the theatre or for amplified sound in auditoriums. Its supercardioid polar pattern limits pickup from the sides and rear, ensuring better separation of speech from competing sound sources and reducing the risk of feedback, whilst delivering a clearer vocal image.

Its CORE+ capsule maintains a consistent response across a wide part of the spectrum, with a usable range from 100 Hz to 18 kHz and a slight boost of 1 dB at 14 kHz. This control helps to maintain clear and natural vocal reproduction, with a stable tonal balance across the entire usable frequency range and controlled presence.

The system’s acoustic design reduces sensitivity to variations in placement, thanks in particular to a carefully off-centre acoustic axis and a partially asymmetrical capsule, designed to stabilise the pickup. Pickup performance remains effective when the boom is positioned slightly to the side of the mouth, with a more controlled response to minor positional variations and greater consistency across different set-ups.

The 6388’s Act armature retains the general architecture already familiar from the 4066 and 4088 models, with several targeted adjustments aimed at comfort, reliability, visual discretion and ease of adjustment. The rounded ear tips reduce pressure points, the reinforced clips stabilise the fit, and the downward cable routing minimises stress at the junction between the ear hook and the cable, ensuring a more comfortable fit for everyday wear.
