The DPA 6388 CORE+ is a directional headband microphone designed to reproduce the voice clearly in complex acoustic environments, combining isolation, tonal stability and feedback resistance. Its supercardioid capsule and Act headband ensure consistent sound pickup, whilst offering a discreet and comfortable fit. The beige colour scheme blends in easily in situations where visual discretion is important, whilst the IP58-rated construction enhances its resistance to moisture and dust. The TA4F Mini-XLR connector completes this package, designed for stage and speech applications, without turning every adjustment into a treasure hunt.

Presentation
The DPA 6388 CORE+ is a directional headband microphone designed for voice recording in situations where ambient noise and the risk of feedback complicate the broadcast. Its supercardioid design ensures precise separation between the voice and surrounding sound sources.
The capsule features CORE+ technology and maintains a frequency response of 100 Hz to 18 kHz, with a slight boost of 1 dB at 14 kHz. Its off-axis design also facilitates consistent pickup when the capsule is positioned slightly to the side of the mouth, without requiring perfectly precise physical alignment.
The Act frame improves stability thanks to rounded behind-the-ear earpieces, redesigned contours and reinforced clips. The cable runs down to the junction with the ear hook, minimising mechanical stress. The PVD finish also reduces the visibility of the ear hook and harmonises the appearance of the earpiece with the Beige colour scheme, ensuring a discreet visual presence on stage or in front of the camera.
The design of the 6388 CORE+ incorporates several features intended to maintain its performance over time, including IP58 certification against moisture and dust, as well as an architecture designed for ease of repair. The cable features a 90° routing design that reduces strain during handling. The zip-fastened case provided also makes identification easier thanks to its transparent window, which allows you to quickly spot the connectors, the capsule and the colour, whilst its elastic strap keeps the microphone in place without the need for additional securing.

For a presentation with sound being played nearby, the 6388 CORE+ may be suitable when the voice needs to remain clear despite acoustic reflections or the presence of loudspeakers. Its supercardioid polar pattern then promotes focused speech pickup and controlled rejection of sound from the sides.
In a stage setup where several vocal sources and instruments share the same space, the 6388 can also be useful when minimising off-axis pickup is a priority. The range comprises 3 colours, 2 sizes and 4 connection types, totalling 24 models, allowing the system to be precisely tailored to the venue’s acoustics and the equipment being used.
