EMG - Crossroads Set Black

The EMG Crossroads Set Black pickups have been designed for lovers of vintage grain who want to do away with the noise of another age. Three simple windings, three ambiances inspired by sixties blues, and modern, well-controlled dynamics.

Each pickup features an Alnico 2 magnet, renowned for its soft attack and muted warmth. The neck pickup sounds round and expressive (resonance at 4.5 kHz), perfect for soulful leads. The middle pickup, at 3.3 kHz, responds with precision to funky playing or snappy arpeggios. As for the bridge, it drops to 2.9 kHz: a dose of controlled bite, without any stridency.

The sound signature? Clear, balanced and dynamic, with a hint of active compression that adds body without overpowering expression. No buzz, no hum: even with overdrive, there's total silence. The intermediate positions shine, the notes slam without ever piercing the eardrums. And what about that hollowed-out audio typical of the Strats? It's there, but with more definition.

Installation is ultra-simple, thanks to EMG's solderless system. Everything is supplied: 5-position selector, 25k pots, stereo jack, cables and screws. One 9V battery (not included) is all you need to keep the whole thing running for over 800 hours.
