The EMG SLV SLV 85 Black pickup set is for guitarists who demand precision and personality in equal measure. Designed around Steve Lukather's signature sound, this SSH combo features two single SLV pickups and a double 85, all active, for balanced dynamics and controlled power.
The SLV pickups offer a revisited vintage grain. Their design, based on the SA model, with no visible studs, ensures a smooth, accurate sound with no extraneous noise. One of our customers uses it in the studio for funk riffs where every note has to click, without burrs or hiss. The result? Crisp, clean and effective. And with the flat Alnico V magnets, the string-to-string sound remains consistent, even in drop tuning.
The 85 adds body and bite in the bridge position. It's the pickup that gets the job done when you need to send it. We think muscular rock, thick blues or sharp metal - all with a warmth typical of Alnico V humbuckers. Another customer confided in us that he had replaced his Seymour Duncan JB with this 85, "more expressive, richer and quieter".
Installation? No soldering iron required. The EMG solderless system can be installed with just your fingers, and can be upgraded with all EMG accessories.
