With the ST-65, EMG offers a complete solution for beefing up your Strat without getting bogged down in wiring. Three passive single-coil pickups, pre-wired on a 3-ply pickguard, ready to be fitted in just a few minutes thanks to a solderless system with 2-pin connectors. No tools required, just real time saving.
Sound-wise, it's a far cry from a simple standard replacement. The Alnico V magnets deliver a higher level of output than the Alnico II or III, with a drier attack, pronounced midrange and well-defined treble. The result is a more aggressive sound, very effective for rock rhythms, cutting solos or controlled saturated sounds.
