Golden Age Audio - FC4

The Golden Age Audio FC4 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone designed as a simple, reliable and versatile tool, capable of adapting to the majority of instrumental recording situations. Its 20 mm capsule with gold-plated diaphragm accurately captures attacks, transients and harmonics, making it a coherent solution for acoustic guitars, pianos, strings, percussion or guitar amps.

The electronics are based on a discrete Class A topology, with no output transformer, to ensure a fast, clean and stable signal, while retaining natural musicality. The low-noise FET preamplifier provides a controlled signal-to-noise ratio, useful both in the studio and for live recording, even with more delicate sources.

The FC4 incorporates two physical switches directly on the body of the mic, a high-pass filter to reduce unwanted vibration and rumble, and a -10 dB pad for handling high sound pressure levels. This flexibility means that the FC4 can be used both with highly dynamic sources and in more controlled situations, without the need for external processing.

Its brass body ensures good mechanical resistance and durability for professional applications. Phantom-powered at 48 V, it fits easily into any standard installation.
