The Jet JS-300 Mini BK is not a transitional guitar. It is a short-scale solid-body guitar with a scale length of 578 mm, designed for those who want the tension of a softer string without sacrificing tonal clarity — guitarists with smaller hands, travellers, or those who tune two semitones flat and are still looking for bite. The body, made from torrefied poplar and heat-treated to stabilise the grain, sounds drier and more direct than untreated poplar: less muddiness in the low-midrange, more definition on the attack.
The roasted Canadian maple neck carries this philosophy through to the roasted maple fingerboard, with a Modern C profile that keeps the wrist relaxed on the higher frets. The 241.3 mm radius stays true to the Strat-style tradition: barre chords hold effortlessly, and bends sound in tune right up to the 20th fret. The 41.9 mm nut width gives your fingers room to breathe without straining your hand. The double-action truss rod and bone nut round off a neck geometry that won’t need adjusting every week.
The SSS configuration with three ceramic pickups delivers that classic Stratocaster tone spectrum: the middle position for that ‘quack’, the bridge for a crisp attack, and the neck for a rounded tone. The 5-way switch unlocks the middle positions — where the sound really comes into its own during recording or rehearsals. The fixed bridge keeps the tuning stable; the chrome-plated tuning machines and hardware do the job without trying to steal the limelight. In Black, this mini retains a serious look that smaller models often abandon all too quickly.
