Markbass - MB 4 Black PB

The Markbass MB 4 Black PB makes a striking impression at first glance with its black silhouette, evoking the world of basses associated with Jaco Pastorius. This 4-string electric bass features a P-style offset body, whose familiar lines give it an instantly recognisable presence, equally at home on stage as it is in the studio.

Its poplar body combines a black finish with a black pickguard, whilst the chrome control plate provides a subtle contrast. The headstock, colour-matched to the body, continues this uniform aesthetic and frames the maple neck, resulting in a design that is as visually cohesive as it is functional.

Playing feels right at home on the narrow maple neck and maple fingerboard, with a scale length of 34 inches (863.60 mm). The 20 frets provide a familiar range for bass lines, from sustained notes to more fluid phrases.

On the electronics front, the P-configuration features a split-coil P neck pickup, with volume and tone controls to shape the character of the signal. These passive electronics ensure a responsive feel under the fingers, whilst the chrome-plated knobs echo the visual language of the nameplate.

The Markbass MB 4 Black PB comes with a GLOXY gig bag and an MB strap, providing protection for the instrument and making it easy to transport between home, rehearsals and the stage. Part of the MB Entry Level Bass series, each instrument undergoes individual quality control at Markbass’s headquarters in Italy before being delivered to its bassist.
