Markbass - MB 4 Blue Sky S PB

The Markbass MB 4 Blue Sky S PB is a four-string electric bass inspired by the Precision design, featuring a P-style offset poplar body that gives it a balanced sound. Its blue colour extends onto the headstock, which matches the body, enhancing the coherence of its silhouette.

The black pickguard contrasts with the blue finish, whilst the chrome control plate and potentiometer knobs add bright accents to the overall design. This combination retains the classic hallmarks of the Precision bass whilst giving the MB 4 Blue Sky S PB a distinct visual identity. It’s a silhouette that catches the eye at first glance on a shop wall.

The narrow maple neck shortens the grip under the fingers and allows the hand to move effortlessly from one end of the neck to the other. Twenty frets run along a laurel fingerboard, which is responsive to the touch, on a scale length of 863.60 mm (34 inches) that maintains the necessary tension for the bass strings.

The single P-style split-coil pickup and passive electronics with volume and tone controls allow the bass to reach deep, round and nasal depths, with no preamp between the player’s hands and the amplifier, delivering a raw and direct sound. This tone has its roots in the acoustic style inspired by Jaco Pastorius.

Part of the MB Entry Level Basses series, the MB 4 Blue Sky S PB comes with a Gloxy gig bag and an MB strap, ready to hit the stage or the rehearsal room, following individual inspection of the instrument at the factory in Italy.
