Martinez - Crossover 14-MP + Housse

Maple plays a distinctive role in the Martinez Crossover 14-MP electro-acoustic folk guitar + gig bag. It forms the back and sides, whilst the solid spruce top gives the nylon strings the projection and character of a folk guitar. The natural colour and gloss finish allow the wood’s grain to show through in the light.

This instrument incorporates the hallmarks of the classical guitar in a more open-backed design. Its 4/4 body retains the full-bodied sound of a concert guitar, with a cutaway that provides access to the highest frets for solos. The 650 mm scale length maintains the classic feel, and the 48 mm nut width offers a familiar spacing for the left hand.

When it comes to amplification, the bridge-mounted piezo pickup, connected to the Fishman PSY-201 system, reproduces the warmth of nylon strings through a PA system without distorting the sound. From small-group rehearsals to concert hall performances, the signal remains faithful to what you play.

The included gig bag accompanies the Martinez Crossover 14-MP from home to the dressing room and protects the instrument whilst on the move. Martinez was founded in Germany in 1978 before relocating to Guangzhou in 2005. The Crossover series was developed in collaboration with the American luthier Kenny Hill, whose influence is evident in this approach to nylon-string guitars.
