The Martinez Crossover 12-MP electro-acoustic folk guitar + gig bag incorporates the key features of a nylon-string guitar, with a 4/4 body and a cutaway that provides easy access to the higher frets. Its natural colour scheme allows the wood to show through, beneath a gloss finish that highlights the body’s subtle tones.

The solid spruce top delivers a crisp attack and a lively tone, with good definition as the playing becomes more nuanced. The maple back and sides lend a clearer tone colour, with a response well-suited to both rhythm and melody.

The Crossover 12-MP’s 25.59" (650 mm) scale length matches that of a classic nylon-string guitar, with familiar fret spacing under the fingers. Its 1.89" (48 mm) nut width offers ample space for classical, fingerstyle or nylon-string folk playing.

On stage, the Fishman PSY-201 system takes over. Its amplification electronics rely on a piezo pickup positioned at the bridge, which reproduces the attack and nuances of the playing in the audio signal. The body thus retains its character when connected to the PA system.

Martinez traces its history back to Germany, where it was founded in 1978, before establishing itself in Guangzhou in 2005, with the support of American luthier Kenny Hill. The included gig bag is perfect for transporting the guitar to rehearsals or gigs.
