Presentation
This academic edition builds on the features of Digital Performer 12, offering a working environment suited to both learning production techniques and working on advanced projects. The interface can be customised and organised to suit each user’s needs, whilst the numerous audio and MIDI editors allow for precise work on arrangements and performances.
DP12 features over 300 instruments, around 1,100 presets and 500 loops, as well as a collection of 90 real-time audio and MIDI effects. Recording functions include loop recording, take management and comping.
Version 12 also introduces tools of particular interest to modern ensembles: AI-assisted stem separation, enabling the isolation of vocals, drums, bass, guitar or string/brass sections; Arrangement Strip for quickly reorganising sections of a track; and an improved Track Freeze function.
For audiovisual and immersive creation, Digital Performer 12 supports Dolby Atmos up to 9.1.6, with management of beds, audio objects, panning and positioning metadata, as well as binaural rendering to headphones.
Music notation is also integrated, with support for MusicXML import and export, whilst video and visual composition tools enable DP12 to be integrated into audiovisual production workflows.
Digital Performer 12 Academic thus provides a comprehensive educational environment for working on projects ranging from music creation and sound design to immersive mixing and visual composition.
