Presentation
Neumann launched its famous TLM 103 in 1997. To celebrate this bestseller, a special and limited edition, called "25 Years Edition" is offered at the end of 2022. Dressed in a superb galvanic nickel dress which gives it a raw but refined titanium look, this edition is a tribute to the industrial aesthetic of the late 90s. This special coating is entirely made at Neumann. Ultra-fine grooves give the TLM 103 an elegant roughness.
The TLM 103 takes characteristics of the original U87 and combines them with modern needs in terms of signal-to-noise noise: it is particularly low!
This version of the TLM 103, 25 Years Edition, is limited to only 500 pieces worldwide and each unit bears its individual serial number on the front panel. It comes with its elastic suspension and a pair of black gloves to handle it without leaving marks, all in a very robust aluminum case.

To find out more...
1997 was the year of two magical events: 500 copies of a book about a certain “Harry Potter” were published in the UK – and Neumann presented the TLM 103, the sensation of the time in its sector. It was the first microphone to offer true Neumann quality at an affordable price for home use by enthusiasts or for a model studio. And it could also work magic: the TLM 103 made microphone noise virtually disappear. Thanks to its incredibly low self-noise level of only 7 dB-A, well below the ambient noise even in the best recording studios.
