REFERENCE : NOVCVT10M
The Novastar CVT10-M connects the network ports of an LED system to a multimode fibre link, enabling data to be transmitted over a distance of up to 300 metres whilst maintaining an Ethernet distribution to the screens. Its compact design and various mounting options mean it can be integrated either in a control room or directly into a technical structure.

Presentation
Not all LED systems require a fibre link spanning several kilometres. In many installations, the distance to be covered is only a few tens or hundreds of metres, but using fibre nonetheless simplifies the cabling and allows different parts of the system to be physically separated. The CVT10-M is designed for this type of configuration, using multimode fibre to carry data from a set of network connections.
Its architecture is organised around two 10G optical interfaces and ten Gigabit Ethernet ports. In one direction, the signal received via the fibre is distributed to the network outputs to feed the various downstream components. In the other direction, the Ethernet ports can be used to aggregate the data before it is transmitted via fibre. The converter can therefore be positioned at various points in the chain, depending on how the LED system is configured.
The choice of multimode fibre is a key factor here. With dual-core OM3 or OM4 fibres and modules operating at 850 nm, the transmission range reaches 300 metres. This distance is particularly suitable for set-ups where the processor, control room and screens are installed in separate areas within the same room, at an event or on a technical site. The fibre therefore makes it possible to minimise the number of network cables running along the main route, whilst maintaining standard Ethernet connections close to the equipment.
The CVT10-M features two factory-fitted, hot-swappable 10G SFP modules. OPT1 provides the main link, whilst OPT2 can be used as a backup. This configuration provides a redundancy solution without altering the Ethernet distribution on the other side of the converter.
Another of its key advantages lies in its physical integration. The chassis can be installed on its own, suspended or laid horizontally; however, the accessories supplied also allow it to be combined with another CVT10 to form a unit occupying just 1U in a 19-inch rack. The mounting can therefore be adapted for use in a fixed control room or in equipment designed for transport and deployment at various sites.
