Novastar - Card IN 1x ST 2110 (25G) - H Series

The NovaStar Card IN 1x ST 2110 (25G) receiver card provides a network video input for H Series chassis, utilising the SMPTE ST 2110 standard. Instead of receiving the signal via a traditional video connection, the card retrieves the stream directly from an IP infrastructure and integrates it into the LED system’s processing. This architecture is particularly useful for installations where video sources, control room equipment and display processors are spread across multiple zones.

The 25G SFP28 interface supports a maximum resolution of 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz. The optical link can operate with either single-mode or multi-mode fibre, whilst the two included single-mode 25G SFP modules enable long-distance transmission of up to 10 km with a suitable infrastructure. The presence of two optical ports makes it possible to distinguish between a primary and a secondary link and to envisage a more flexible transport architecture.

This approach is naturally suited to broadcast control rooms, production centres or video installations that already use an IP infrastructure. Sources can thus be distributed across the network before being received by the NovaStar chassis, thereby avoiding the need to restrict the system’s layout to the physical proximity of video connectors.

The input card occupies an input slot in the H Series Main Frame and features LED indicators for monitoring link status. Its integration is therefore directly linked to the chassis architecture whilst providing access to ST 2110-based IP video workflows.
