Novastar - MFN300

The NovaStar MFN300 board acts as an interface between an LED screen’s control system and various peripheral functions that would otherwise be handled by different pieces of equipment. Its multifunctional design combines sensor management, serial communications, an audio output and relay contacts on a single board, whilst maintaining direct integration into the installation’s Ethernet network.

Two RJ45 ports allow the MFN300 to be connected to the display network and its position in the data chain to be selected. This architecture facilitates the integration of the board at various points in the network without requiring it to be positioned solely near the processor. Port mapping is managed by software to adapt communication to the configuration in use.

Environmental monitoring is one of the MFN300’s key functions. Four inputs are available for light sensors and a further four for temperature sensors. This makes it possible to connect NovaStar accessories such as the NS60 or the MTH310 in order to retrieve measurements directly from the display area and utilise this information within the control system.

The board also features a main audio output in the form of a balanced 3.5 mm TRS jack, as well as an RS-232 interface. Eight relay contacts complete the package and can be used to control external circuits or equipment depending on the chosen programming. This combination makes it possible, in particular, to centralise various auxiliary functions around an LED display.
