Rme - AES25 4F4M PRO 5m
Measuring 5 metres in length, the RME AES25 4F4M PRO 5m enables a multi-channel digital audio link to be routed between an interface, a converter or a mixing desk and its connection point. The cable combines eight AES3 / AES/EBU connections into a single bundle, with four male XLRs and four female XLRs connected to a male D-Sub 25 connector.
Presentation
The connection is based on a multi-channel architecture using the D-Sub 25 format. A single male connector houses all eight channels on the equipment side, whilst the cable terminates in four male XLR connectors and four female XLR connectors. This configuration allows various AES/EBU connections to be centralised within a single cable, thereby avoiding the need for multiple individual cables between devices.
The RME AES25 4F4M PRO is part of the ALVA AES/EBU Multicore range and uses a characteristic impedance of 110 ohms, suitable for AES3 digital audio transmission. It supports AES/EBU configurations up to 192 kHz, making it ideal for audio interfaces, converters, digital mixing consoles and other professional equipment using this standard.
The 5-metre length also offers greater flexibility when routing the cable. The multi-pair cable can run along a rack, pass behind several devices or reach a remote patch point without the need for extension cables between the different channels. The eight XLR connectors are individually numbered to ensure clear channel identification during installation and maintenance work.
