The Roland Boutique SE-02 is a monophonic synthesizer with discrete analog circuitry, 3 VCOs with 6 waveforms each, a powerful built-in sequencer and a unique knob function, developed in partnership with Studio Electronics. It's possible to create a polyphonic synthesiser by cascading two or more Roland SE-02s via MIDI, increasing your creative capabilities tenfold!
Presentation
The SE-02 Roland's built-in 16-step Step Sequencer adds movement and sonic possibilities. It can sync to external tempo via MIDI, USB or Trigger input and gate, glide, tempo and patch number are recorded with each sequence.
The sound engine features three voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), a 24dB voltage-controlled low-pass filter (VCF) and a two-stage gain amplifier (VCA). Each VCO offers automatic tuning with selections for six different waveforms.
In addition, the Roland SE-02 offers a wide choice of tones beyond the classic vintage tones, including three types of cross modulation (XMod), rip filter feedback loop, envelope sweep and invert, oscillator sync, noise generator, 9-curve tempo sync LFO and tempo sync delay.
With CV inputs for pitch and filter frequency, Trigger input and output: the Roland Boutique SE02 works great in a modular setup and with vintage synths in general. You can route external audio signals through the filter section. And thanks to USB-Audio and MIDI, you can easily integrate it into your home studio setup.
