The SE Electronics sE7 sideFire is a cardioid condenser microphone with a small diaphragm and a 90° capsule, designed for recording in confined spaces.

Presentation
The SE Electronics sE7 sideFire takes the base of the sE7 and adds a 90° side-firing capsule, making it easier to place the microphone in configurations where space is limited. In particular, this design allows the capsule to be placed closer to the source without constraint due to the axis of the microphone.
This format is particularly suitable for recording instruments such as acoustic guitar, piano or percussion, as well as overhead or orchestral configurations. The cardioid pick-up pattern concentrates the pick-up on the main source while limiting surrounding sounds.
The frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz ensures full reproduction of the spectrum, with good transient accuracy. The 1/2" back-electret condenser capsule is combined with a Class A circuit and transformerless output for clear, coherent pick-up.
The microphone incorporates a -20 dB pad to handle high-level sources, and an 80 Hz low-cut filter to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise. It operates on 48V phantom power and connects via a standard XLR output.
Its compact size and streamlined design make it easy to integrate into a variety of set-ups, both in the studio and live.
