SE Electronics - X1 A

The sE Electronics X1 A is aimed at studio set-ups looking for a microphone that is reliable, easy to use and capable of covering several types of takes without the need for additional equipment. It is based on the X1 series with an optimised electret capsule, combined with clean, stable electronics.

The microphone's behaviour is characterised by a balanced frequency response, with high frequencies that are present but not excessive, and clear midrange, making it suitable for both vocal and acoustic instrument miking. On guitar, piano or drum overheads, it reproduces detail without artificially accentuating certain areas of the spectrum.

Its ability to handle high SPL levels means it can also be used on powerful sources, such as a guitar amp or snare drum. The built-in -20dB pad makes this easier by preventing input stage saturation, while the 100Hz low-cut filter limits unwanted noise and bass.

In a home studio context, the X1 A quickly finds its place thanks to its versatility. It can be used as the main microphone for vocals, but also as a complementary solution for recording different instruments without multiplying the equipment. Its sensitivity remains sufficiently balanced to adapt to a variety of environments.
