SPL Marc One, monitoring and recording controller from the One series (2 pairs of speakers + 1 sub) and headphone preamp with crossfeed function + USB I/O.
ARTICLE N° 81876
Presentation
The SPL Marc One is an audiophile-quality monitoring controller for 2 pairs of speakers + 1 sub, combined with a USB 2.0 interface built around top-of-the-range components.
The loudspeaker matrix specific to the German brand's famous Phonitor series offers infinitely variable crosstalk as well as 2 additional switchable loudspeaker outputs.
As with all Series One products, no compromises have been made when it comes to component quality: Two highly sophisticated Burr-Brown OPA2134 operational amplifiers, with extremely low response times, guarantee a more vivid and open sound image. Top-quality gold electrolytic capacitors from Panasonic and sophisticated DC voltage decoupling drastically improve treble reproduction.
The output stage is designed as a Class AB circuit and delivers sufficient power for headphones with an impedance of 600ohm. Despite the standard 12V plug, the power supply unit is capable of supplying voltages of 34V for the preamplifier and 38V for the output stage and, thanks to the output buffer, has sufficient current reserves for high-impedance headphones. With the Marc One SPL, you have the ideal tool for enjoying your music at reference quality.

The SPL Marc One's monitoring controller function allows you to connect and switch between two pairs of speakers, including a subwoofer. The level can be adjusted via DIP switches. The signal can be transmitted to other devices via the stereo line output. Like the Phonitor One, the SPL Marc One has balanced and unbalanced inputs. To facilitate professional monitoring, the two inputs can be connected together, the signal can be summed to mono and the left and right channels can be swapped.
Compared with the Control One, the Marc One features a high-quality DA converter with AKM chip, to which a stereo source can be connected via USB. The Marc One SPL supports Mac, PC, Android and iOS.
Because the Marc One houses a state-of-the-art converter chip, every detail, no matter how discreet, is given presence and clarity. Sampling rates of up to 768kHz are possible to support DSD (Direct Stream Digital), and the class-compliant USB means it can be connected directly to iPads, iPhones, iMacs and other iOS devices without the need for a driver. Note, however, that a driver will be required for use with Windows operating systems. In terms of monitoring, the options are vast. Set the switch to the centre position and the audio is output in stereo, while mono compatibility can be checked by applying a special 'channel swap', whereby the left and right channels are reversed - an ideal feature for ensuring that the audio orientation is correct when editing video, without first having to modify the sample in an audio sequencer!
