Tascam - Encodeur/Decodeur Vidéo Full HD VS-R264

The Tascam VS-R264 is a Full HD video encoding and decoding solution specifically designed for live streaming and simultaneous recording applications. Designed to operate without a computer, this compact unit enables immediate broadcasting to YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and other streaming platforms, thanks to extensive compatibility with RTMP, RTSP, and HLS protocols.

Unlike PC-based solutions, which can suffer from limitations in stability and CPU load, the VS-R264 is a standalone unit optimized for smooth, reliable broadcasting. Once set up, simply plug a camera into its HDMI input and press the STREAM button to start streaming in real time. Its compact size and PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) compatibility make it ideal for fixed or mobile installations.

The encoder can simultaneously record streams to an SD card, USB media or internal memory (17 GB with firmware v2.0.1), allowing direct archiving of content. The addition of MP4 format (in addition to MPEG2-TS) strengthens compatibility with post-production and multimedia content management systems.

On the audio side, the VS-R264 does not just encode and stream video: it integrates real audio signal processing, with balanced analog inputs and outputs (Euroblock connectors) and unbalanced mini-jacks, allowing direct integration of signals from microphones, mixing consoles or sound systems. It is also capable of embedding and de-embedding audio from HDMI streams, thus offering great flexibility of use.
