Novastar - VX600 Pro

With six processing layers, multiple video formats and up to 3.9 million pixels to manage, the NovaStar VX600 Pro is designed first and foremost as the central hub of the LED display chain. Its architecture combines image processing and distribution within a single processor, whilst offering sufficient flexibility to support screens whose dimensions fall outside standard formats. The controlled display area can reach 10,240 pixels in width or 8,192 pixels in height, which paves the way for panoramic configurations and particularly tall displays.

The processing function is based on integrated scaling and six layers. Several elements can therefore be combined before being sent to the screen, whilst colour correction and low-latency operation allow for fine-tuning of the video chain’s output and responsiveness. The GenLock function, available on both input and output, enables the processor to be synchronised with other video equipment.

Another advantage of the VX600 Pro is the wide range of sources it supports. Two HDMI 1.3 inputs, one HDMI 2.0 input and one 3G-SDI input allow different generations and types of signal to be combined within a single setup. A USB 3.0 port completes the package and can be used with the internal media player to stream content stored on a USB drive directly. An HDMI output for the PVW/MVR, along with the HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI loops, provide additional options for monitoring and redistributing signals.

On the LED screen side, the six Ethernet outputs handle data distribution, whilst two 10G SFP slots allow the fibre-optic link to be extended. To extend beyond the standard 100-metre limit of an Ethernet link, a NovaStar optical converter such as the CVT10-S or CVT10-M can be added. A second VX600 Pro can also fulfil this role in converter mode.

Control remains accessible in several ways: via the front-panel LCD screen, NovaLCT, the Unico web interface or VICP. Finally, the dedicated input for the light sensor adds the option to automate the lighting level. Housed in a 1U 19-inch chassis, the NovaStar VX600 Pro can thus be integrated directly into a rack-mounted system or a flight case.
