Novastar - VX1000 Pro

The strength of the NovaStar VX1000 Pro lies above all in the number of functions it combines within a single processor. Managing an LED screen is not limited here to simply sending a video signal or switching sources: the device also allows you to composite images, resize content, save different configurations and directly manage some of the media to be displayed.

Its video processing supports resolutions of up to 4,096 × 2,160 at 60 Hz and allows you to work with multiple elements simultaneously thanks to its six layers. A single composition can thus combine different sources and image zones, whilst the scaling functions allow their display to be adjusted without the need for an external scaler. The 256 available presets add another practical dimension: multiple configurations can be saved and then quickly recalled, simplifying changes to content or layout.

Nor is the VX1000 Pro limited to conventional video sources. Its built-in media player allows content stored on a USB stick to be played directly. New functions for managing text, images, time and weather also allow compositions to be enhanced with information generated or customised directly within the system.

The connectivity options have been designed to cater for a range of production types. HDMI 2.0 supports 4K signals, whilst the two HDMI 1.3 ports and the 3G-SDI port offer further input options. NDI completes this suite by enabling the integration of video sources transmitted over the network. On the output side, the 10 Ethernet ports offer a capacity of up to 6.5 million pixels, with a maximum width of 10,240 pixels and a height of up to 8,192 pixels. Two 10G optical interfaces are also available for links requiring greater distances or a cabling architecture different from standard Ethernet.

For configuration and operation, NovaStar offers a choice of several interfaces: a front panel with an LCD screen, NovaLCT, Unico via a web browser, or VICP. The VX1000 Pro can therefore be operated either from its own chassis or from a control station. Finally, its 1U form factor and weight of 3.9 kg mean it can be easily integrated into a rack-mounted infrastructure or a 19-inch flight case, without the processor becoming a bulky component in the video chain.
