Electric Bass
This Ashdown Roasted Saint Gloss Black bass has real attitude. Black, sleek, menacing! Under the lights, its brilliance catches the eye. The 20 frets open the field to sharp flights of fancy. And yet the groove hits hard. The P-Bass and J-Bass pickups spit out chiselled lines. The tuning holds, whatever happens. Every note slams, clean and punchy. Are you ready to dominate the stage?

Presentation
The combination of P-Bass and J-Bass pickups on the Ashdown Roasted Saint Gloss Black electric bass works very well. The neck pickup produces a round sound. The bridge pickup adds bite and clarity. Mix the two and you have a sound palette to suit any style.
With an 864 mm pitch, string tension is more pronounced. Each note remains well defined, even when played fast. The attack is sharper than with a short-scale model.
The torrefied maple neck reacts very little to temperature variations. Under hot lights or in humid environments, stability remains flawless. No need for constant adjustment.
In the studio, every nuance is captured with precision. This bass responds well to subtle dynamics. When slapped, it keeps its punch. When played with the finger, it breathes naturally.
The two volume pots allow precise dosage. A setting of 60% P-Bass and 40% J-Bass gives a clean attack. For a more singing sound, invert the balance.
The poplar body provides an interesting tonal balance. The attack is lively, without being aggressive. Bass remains deep, while treble retains its presence.
In a group, this reference finds its place without worry. No frequency dominates excessively. In rock, funk or jazz, it adapts effortlessly.
An effective, well-designed and inspiring instrument!
