The DPA 4099 CORE+ Extreme SPL with Drum clip represents the new generation of microphones designed for close miking of powerful instruments such as drums and percussion. Building on the legendary quality of the 4099 series, this version incorporates CORE+ technology, which offers an extended dynamic range and increased SPL tolerance. Designed to withstand the high acoustic pressures generated by snare drums, toms and other percussion instruments, this model withstands levels of up to 152dB SPL peak, while maintaining a distortion rate of less than 1%. Its supercardioid pattern provides excellent isolation of direct sound and effective rejection of ambient noise, helping to maintain a coherent mix on stage and in the studio.

The 4099 CORE+'s pre-polarised electret capsule reproduces the full sound spectrum of the instrument, from the dry impact of drums to the harmonics of metal. Its linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a slight boost of +2 dB between 10 and 12 kHz, brings out the natural attack and brilliance of the drums. The integrated shock-mount system effectively reduces vibrations and solid-borne noise transmitted by the stand, guaranteeing clean, stable pick-up, even during powerful playing.

The D-Clip supplied ensures secure and quick attachment to the majority of drum hoops, without the risk of damaging the finish. Its articulated design allows the positioning of the 140 mm gooseneck to be finely adjusted, ensuring precise orientation of the capsule according to the source to be recorded. Compact and unobtrusive, this microphone fits easily into any stage setup, taking up very little space around the kit.
