DPA - 4099 CORE+ Mic, Loud SPL

The DPA 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is the new generation of the Danish brand's iconic instrument microphone. Designed for musicians and sound engineers looking for the transparency and reliability of DPA sound, it adopts the very latest CORE+ technology, guaranteeing finer reproduction, a wider dynamic range and greater tolerance of high SPLs.

Designed to suit a wide variety of acoustic instruments, this Loud SPL model (marked by a red ring on the gooseneck) can handle up to 145dB SPL peak, effortlessly covering a wide range of sound sources - guitar, piano, strings, woodwinds, light percussion or harp. Its supercardioid pattern ensures excellent rejection of off-axis sound, ideal for use on stage or in orchestras. The result remains natural and balanced, true to the DPA signature: no artificial coloration, no excessive proximity effect, just the pure timbre of the instrument.

The pre-polarised electret capsule, combined with a 14 cm gooseneck, offers precise, stable positioning. Thanks to the new shock-absorbing suspension system, vibrations and handling noise are effectively isolated, ensuring clean pick-up even in dynamic stage environments. The body of the microphone has a less reflective design, perfectly suited to stages, studios and touring.

Another major development is the MicroLock connector, which replaces the old MicroDot for more secure attachment and direct compatibility with DPA adapters for wireless systems or phantom power (DAD9001, DAD9099). This locking system prevents accidental disconnection and ensures reliable contact, even on the move.

The 4099 CORE+ is also IP58-rated, guaranteeing enhanced protection against dust and humidity, for increased durability in stage or outdoor conditions. Versatile and upgradeable, it can be fitted with any DPA 4099 clip depending on the instrument (guitar, violin, piano, brass, drums, etc.). This modularity makes it a reference tool for touring technicians, multi-instrumentalist musicians and live sound engineers.

Everywhere, the 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL captures every nuance with exceptional clarity. Its very low self-noise (23 dB(A)), flat frequency response from 80 Hz to 17 kHz, and slight, gentle hum around 10-12 kHz give it a precise, airy sound, faithful to the original character of the instrument.
