Designed for Steve Lukather, this set of three SLVX White pickups from EMG embodies a magnetic sonic signature. The S/S/S format delivers a clean attack that's powered by an X-Series preamp that adds good dynamics and extended headroom.
The Alnico magnets add a warm grain, while the tightly wound coil amplifies the output without generating any hiss. The active treble control (VLPF) adjusts the tone with finesse, without ever distorting the raw character of the instrument. Close to the strings, the microphones react to the slightest nuance of playing. The transient response never falters. Whether you're on stage or in the studio, the noise floor (-103 dB) remains constant.
No soldering is required thanks to the EMG system: everything plugs in, everything works. The circuit consumes very little power, providing over 300 hours on a single 9V battery. This white set has a sober design with no visible studs. But what it hides on the outside, it screams out on the inside. Nothing spills out, everything hits straight on, and the audio makes you vibrate.
