Martinez - Crossover 14-CB + Housse

The Martinez Crossover 14-CB + Case is an electro-acoustic folk guitar that strikes a balance between attack and warmth. Its solid spruce top responds vividly to the touch and gives the nylon strings a crisp response. The solid ovangkol back and sides add warmth to the mid-range and greater depth to the bass, with a tone that gains in richness without losing its clarity.

The natural finish reveals the grain of the spruce, highlighted by the body’s gloss finish. The 4/4 size retains the proportions of a concert guitar, with a body that provides plenty of space for playing. The cutaway provides easy access to the higher frets for solos up the neck.

This instrument from the Crossover series retains the key features that matter to the left hand. The 650 mm scale length preserves the classic feel, with a 48 mm nut that spaces the strings in line with nylon-string conventions.

On stage, the piezo pickup at the bridge and the Fishman PSY-101 system transmit the instrument’s acoustic character to the PA system, with a sound reproduction that preserves its nuances. The case supplied protects the guitar whilst on the move, from home to the stage.

Martinez began in Germany in 1978 before moving to Guangzhou in 2005. The brand then developed its Crossover series in collaboration with the American luthier Kenny Hill, whose expertise in nylon-string guitars contributed to this evolution. This collaboration positions the Crossover within an approach that bridges the gap between classical traditions and amplified playing.
