Martinez - Crossover MP14-OV ON + Housse

The Martinez Crossover MP14-OV ON + Case is designed for guitarists looking for the feel of a classical guitar in a more open configuration. This 4/4 nylon-string electro-acoustic guitar from the Crossover series features Savarez strings and a cutaway that provides easy access to the higher frets. The body retains classic proportions, whilst being designed with amplified playing in mind.

The solid ovangkol body, with top, back and sides all made from the same wood, gives the bass a distinct roundness and the midrange a solid foundation. The mahogany neck features a C-shaped profile that fits naturally in the hand. Its dual-action truss rod adjusts the neck’s curvature in both directions. The rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets, with a joint at the 14th fret that provides easier access to the treble. The 650 mm (25.59") scale length follows standard string spacing, with a 48 mm (1.89") bone nut that provides ample space between the strings.

The electronics are carefully fitted. The Martinez SFT system acts as the central control unit, featuring a under-saddle piezo and an internal pickup, the balance of which is adjusted via the body pickup volume control. Volume, tone, chorus, delay and reverb complete the setup, with no need for a pedal. Each setting has its own potentiometer, allowing the live sound to be adjusted in a matter of seconds.

The high-gloss natural finish highlights the grain of the ovangkol and reveals the wood’s subtle nuances across the entire body. The included gig bag protects the guitar between rehearsals and gigs.
