Martinez - Hispania Figured + Housse

Martinez crafts the Hispania Figured just as one would analyse a piece of land, layer by layer. The Figured finish and its natural PU varnish allow the wood’s grain to shine through without masking it. Beneath this light-coloured finish, the chambered solid-body design removes material from the interior of the wood, resulting in a thickness of 46 mm that maintains bass volume without weighing down on the shoulders.

The figured Bubinga top forms the visible crown of this geological cross-section, streaked with highlights that shift with the light. The mahogany back and neck provide the dense layer, the foundation that anchors the bass tones. The rosewood fingerboard and bridge complete the instrument with a fine grain, across a scale length of 650 mm (25.59") that allows each chord to breathe. The 48 mm bone nut maintains string spacing close to classical standards.

The C-shaped neck profile fits the hand comfortably without straining the wrist, and the dual-action truss rod keeps the neck profile stable throughout the seasons. Beneath the varnish, the piezo and body pickup configuration – featuring a piezo bridge pickup – captures two distinct sound profiles simultaneously. Three knobs control the master volume, the body pickup level and the effects, all within easy reach whilst playing.

The DerJung preamp controls the whole system via a 3-band EQ, with separate controls for the piezo level and the body-mounted pickup level. The Double Acoustic SG1 system features a dual DSP module with built-in reverb and delay, eliminating the need for any pedals or external boxes between the guitar and the amp.

The USB-C output, featuring OTG technology, records the sound directly to a computer or smartphone, whilst the headphone jack ensures silence after midnight. A lithium battery powers all the electronics, and a gig bag is included with the Hispania Figured straight out of the box.
