Martinez - Standard MC-48S CE RN

With the MC-48S CE RN, Martinez has created an electro-acoustic classical guitar designed with both aesthetics and sound in mind. The thin-body design, slimmer than a traditional classical guitar, changes the way the instrument is held against the body; its tapered silhouette feels lighter under the arm without compromising on tonal presence.

The cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets – a detail that makes all the difference for those exploring the higher positions on the neck without having to struggle against the body of the guitar. With its six strings set to a scale length of 650 mm, the MC-48S CE RN retains its classical roots whilst opening up possibilities beyond the purely classical repertoire.

The solid spruce top delivers a crisp attack with depth, whilst the mahogany sides and back bring warmth to the mid-range – a combination that gives body to the bass without stifling the harmonics. The 52 mm nut width gives the strings room to vibrate without interfering with one another, a real bonus for fingerstyle playing.

The natural colour and gloss finish showcase the top without any embellishment, a sleek design that is equally at home in the studio and on stage. Under the hood, the Fishman preamp transmits the instrument’s acoustic sound to the PA system, from the skyscraper of the home studio to the concert hall. Assembled in China, the MC-48S CE RN joins the Martinez Standard series with the same ambitions as its predecessors.
