Neumann - KM 183 A NX
Combination of the KK 183 omnidirectional equalized diffuse-field capsule and the KM A output stage. Compared with its predecessor, the new KM A/D system uses passive capsules that are considerably smaller, while retaining the proven acoustic design. The new electronic components offer numerous electroacoustic and operational advantages, such as reduced self-noise, extended dynamic range and very high electromagnetic immunity.
Presentation
The KM A transformerless analogue output stage operates with P48 phantom power. A switchable pre-attenuation of -10 dB allows sound pressure levels of up to 152 dB (depending on capsule type) without distortion artefacts.
The KK 183 capsule is an equalized diffuse-field pressure transducer with free-field high-frequency amplification (approximately 7 dB at 10 kHz). The frequency response in the diffuse sound field is flat up to 10 kHz.
