Neumann - KM 184 A NX
Combination of the KK 184 cardioid capsule and the KM A output stage. Compared with its predecessor, the new KM A/D system uses passive capsules that are considerably smaller, while retaining the proven acoustic design. The new electronic components offer numerous electroacoustic and operational advantages, such as reduced self-noise, extended dynamic range and very high electromagnetic immunity.
Presentation
The KK 184 capsule is a pressure gradient transducer with a cardioid characteristic. The frequency curves are very regular and parallel to a sound incidence of 0°. In typical use, there is no coloration of sound over a wide pick-up angle.
The KM A transformerless analogue output stage operates with P48 phantom power. Switchable -10dB pre-attenuation allows sound pressure levels of up to 152dB (depending on capsule type) without distortion artefacts.
