Novastar - CVT 310

The NovaStar CVT310 converter meets the requirements for fibre transmission over medium distances in LED display systems. It enables a long-distance copper link to be replaced by a multimode optical connection, with a range of up to 300 metres. This configuration can be particularly useful when the control room, the NovaStar video processor and the LED wall are not installed in the same location.

The CVT310 operates using two identical units. The first receives data from the RJ45 output of a transmitter card and transmits it over the fibre in TX (transmit) mode. The second is positioned at the display end and receives the signal in RX (receive) mode. The link established in this way maintains a clear distribution architecture between the video processing system and the LED equipment.

The optical interface uses an SFP module with an LC connector, supplied with the unit. The CVT310 utilises multimode fibre, making it particularly suitable for installations where the distance falls within its 300-metre transmission range. It can therefore be integrated into a control room, a performance venue, a presentation space, an event setup or a fixed LED installation where the screens need to be located away from the processor.

Set-up is deliberately kept simple. The converter is Plug and Play and requires no specific drivers. Port mapping can be managed via the NovaStar software environment, whilst the CVT310 handles the conversion between the network and optical interfaces.
