Novastar - SFP 10G Multimode 850 nm

Not all LED projects require several kilometres of fibre between pieces of equipment. Where the processor, converter or other transmission components are relatively close together, a multimode architecture may be a suitable solution. The NovaStar 10G Multimode 850 nm SFP is designed precisely for this configuration, providing a 10G optical interface that can be used directly on NovaStar devices fitted with an SFP slot.

The maximum advertised distance is 300 metres. This range makes it possible, in particular, to connect different areas of a facility where the control room, equipment rack and screens are not located in the same place, without having to use a copper cable for the entire distance. The module utilises 850 nm multimode transmission and supports data rates ranging from 9.95 to 11.30 Gb/s.

Another advantage of this model is its ease of integration. Connection is made via an LC connector, which is fitted to both SFP modules in this range. Fibre cables and cable reels fitted with this connector can therefore be used directly, ensuring a consistent infrastructure across the various points in the chain.

The module also features a very compact design, measuring just 14 mm wide and 12 mm high. It fits directly into compatible equipment and can be hot-swapped, which simplifies maintenance when a module needs to be replaced without removing the equipment from its installation.
