Novastar - LCB4K

For a digital signage display, the media player plays a different role to that of a standard computer: it must be able to store content, play it back autonomously and allow it to be updated without the need for constant on-site intervention. The NovaStar LCB4K meets these requirements by combining multimedia playback, display management and remote communication functions within a single unit.

Its HDMI 2.0 output supports resolutions of up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz and allows a direct connection to an LCD screen or a suitable display system. The LCB4K can also operate with custom resolutions, with a width or height of up to 4096 pixels depending on the configuration. Its adaptive mode utilises the display’s EDID information to automatically adjust the display window, making it easier to set up multi-screen configurations.

Inside, the NovaStar LCB4K features a quad-core ARM A55 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. This architecture enables the decoding of H.264 and H.265 content and the management of multiple simultaneous displays depending on the resolution used. Content can be imported locally via USB or Ethernet and then played directly by the player.

Management can also be carried out remotely. The VIPLEX Express and VIPLEX Handy software packages allow you to control content and display settings, whilst the VNNOX platform provides centralised management and monitoring functions via the network. The LCB4K can communicate via Ethernet or Wi-Fi and supports optional 4G/5G modules for installations where a mobile connection is required.

Finally, two dedicated sensor ports allow NovaStar accessories to be connected to monitor brightness or ambient conditions. With its multi-screen synchronisation features, Wi-Fi AP/STA, USB ports and compatibility with remote management solutions, the LCB4K is a versatile 4K media player for digital signage, commercial display and visual communication projects.
