Novastar - Taurus TB-30

The appeal of the Novastar Taurus TB-30 lies in its standalone operation; it combines the functions of a multimedia player and an LED driver board, whilst incorporating the scaling required to adapt the displayed content. Designed for small LED screens, it supports a maximum load of 650,000 pixels, making it particularly suitable for digital signage installations where a simple, centralised architecture is required.

The TB-30 features 16 GB of internal storage for storing content directly on the device. Media can also be loaded via a network or via USB. Playback is handled by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, supported by 1 GB of RAM. The built-in scaling function allows content to be adapted to the screen’s specifications without the need for a separate video processor.

Another key feature is remote control. An Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection allows the system to be accessed from a computer, smartphone or tablet. The TB-30 can be used with NovaLCT, ViPlex Express, ViPlex Handy and VNNOX to configure the screen, manage content or adjust broadcast settings. A 4G mobile connection can also be used when wired or Wi-Fi network access is unavailable, using an optional 4G module (not included).

Two Ethernet outputs are available for distributing data to the LED screen. These can be configured as main outputs or as backup ports, providing a redundancy solution integrated directly into the media player. Two dedicated inputs also allow a light sensor and a temperature sensor to be connected, enabling the system’s operation to be adapted to its environment.

The TB-30 is therefore particularly well-suited to digital signage in shops, hotels, shopping centres and cinemas. Its metal casing, 1U form factor and power consumption limited to 18 W make it easy to integrate into an indoor installation, whilst remote access eliminates the need to physically access each screen to carry out routine operations.
