Novastar - Taurus TB-60

The Novastar Taurus TB-60 takes a different approach to a conventional LED controller by directly integrating multimedia playback and display management functions. It can therefore support an LED screen with up to 2.3 million pixels, whilst enabling content to be prepared, broadcast and updated via a local network or remotely.

Two operating modes are available. Synchronous playback allows content to be sent immediately to the screen, whilst asynchronous mode enables the remote publication of pre-prepared programmes. Switching between modes can be carried out according to the installation’s requirements. Content can be transferred via Ethernet or USB, and then stored directly in the player’s internal memory.

For playback, the TB-60 supports decoding up to 4K at 60 frames per second and features scaling to adapt the signal to the LED configuration in use. Its architecture is based on a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, depending on the specific model configuration.

One of the Taurus’s key strengths lies in its monitoring capabilities. The Novastar TB-60 can communicate via Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi, with the option to add a 4G connection. The NovaLCT, ViPlex Express, ViPlex Handy and VNNOX software packages enable the system to be configured or controlled from a computer or mobile device. The VNNOX platform, in particular, allows for the remote management of content publishing and screen monitoring.

The TB-60 also features two sensor ports, designed specifically for light levels or temperature, as well as a monitoring system capable of detecting certain issues and ensuring automatic correction. Its compact metal casing, standalone operation and four Ethernet outputs make it a solution particularly well-suited to display installations that need to remain simple to operate whilst still being manageable remotely.
