Rme - ADI-2 Pro EX
The RME ADI-2 Pro EX AD/DA converter is designed to combine digital precision with natural sound reproduction in a compact format. Its versatile architecture combines high-resolution conversion, advanced control and comprehensive connectivity to suit audio environments where every detail counts. With its redesigned chassis and advanced features, it brings a touch of German engineering to your setup, without turning your desk into a space cockpit.
Presentation
SteadyClock FS technology stabilises the internal clock to maintain signal accuracy. This design provides a reliable foundation for analysing, monitoring and reproducing audio sources with great finesse, much like a microscope dedicated to sonic nuances.
Its extensive range of connections facilitates integration into a wide variety of environments, thanks to balanced analogue inputs and outputs, as well as AES, S/PDIF and ADAT connections. The ADI-2 Pro EX can also function as a high-performance USB-C interface with USB Class Compliant support.
This versatility allows multiple functions to be centralised in a single device, with seamless interaction between digital and analogue equipment. Its 1U half-rack format fits easily into a fixed installation or a more mobile workspace.
The two headphone outputs, featuring Extreme Power amplification, provide the right response for headphones requiring a high power reserve. Advanced Balanced mode improves the connection with compatible models thanks to a balanced signal path directly from the converter.
RME has also included a DSP that adds customisation tools such as a 5-band parametric equaliser, Loudness, Crossfeed and more. The high-resolution colour display makes adjustments easy to access and shows essential information clearly.
The ADI-2 Pro EX also incorporates features designed for audio measurement, post-production and professional broadcasting. Its reinforced hardware protection, secure external power supply and lockable USB-C connector enhance day-to-day reliability. The 12 V trigger output adds the option of synchronisation with certain external equipment.
This technical approach demonstrates a keen eye for detail, as even a small connector can play a key role in a well-organised setup.
