The RME MADIface XT II continues the tradition of what RME does best: a compact interface capable of handling an inordinate volume of channels while maintaining exemplary stability. With 394 channels via USB 3.0, two MADI optical ports, MADI coaxial, AES/EBU, mic/line inputs and a dedicated headphone output, the interface covers the needs of broadcast, mobile studios and complex modular systems alike. RME has redesigned the entire analogue and digital section, resulting in an increase in dynamic range, a reduction in THD and a general improvement in audio precision.

The two XLR-TRS mic/line preamps boast a much better signal-to-noise ratio than the previous generation, with a gain of up to 75dB. The XLR-balanced Line Out section now offers a maximum level of +24 dBu, enough to take on professional equipment. Even the headphone output is more powerful, with up to +19dBu and an impedance of 1 ohm. The internal DSP handles all mixing operations via TotalMix FX, including equalisation, dynamics, reverb, delay and the Room EQ function inherited from the Fireface UFX III.

The digital section has also been completely overhauled, notably with the introduction of the ARC USB port, enabling all parameters to be controlled via the dedicated remote control. The SteadyClock FS synchronisation system is based on a femtosecond clock guaranteeing virtually zero jitter, even when the interface needs to lock external sources of variable quality. Class Compliant USB 3.0 compatibility has also been extended, making it possible to transfer all 394 channels simultaneously without a driver.

On a day-to-day basis, MADIface XT II offers great versatility: complex multichannel configurations, high-density recording, real-time monitoring, integration into an existing MADI network or a portable measurement station with DigiCheck. Compact and robust, it fits into a flightcase or a fixed production workstation, with low power consumption and a lightweight external power supply. RME has further strengthened its reputation for reliable, long-lasting solutions with outstanding accuracy.
