Waldorf Music - PPG Wave 3.V Version 2

The PPG Wave 3.V Version 2 is the software recreation of the legendary PPG Wave wavetable synthesiser, an iconic instrument in 80s productions. This updated version retains the gritty digital character of the original while adding advanced features for today's production environments.

The sound engine is based on two wavetable oscillators per voice, with the option of reading samples in a range of resolutions from 8 to 32 bits. This architecture faithfully recreates the brilliant digital textures and evolving pads characteristic of the PPG, while offering an extended sonic palette for modern production.

Version 2 introduces an integrated wavetable editor, allowing users to create, import and modify their own wavetables directly within the plug-in. This feature is a major advantage for sound designers wishing to create unique textures while retaining PPG's sonic DNA. The Microwave-inspired Mutator also adds a creative randomiser for quickly generating new sounds.

The PPG Wave 3.V Version 2 features an 8-part multimode with independent stereo outputs. This configuration makes it possible to build complex layers, multisamples or complete arrangements in a single instance, making it particularly suited to cinematic, synthwave and ambient music.

The processing section includes a 12 or 24 dB low-pass filter, overdrive, LFO, three envelopes and modulation faithful to the original behaviour. Several integrated effects complete the architecture: 4-band EQ, chorus, phaser, flanger, delay and reverb. The result is a mix-ready sound without the need for additional plug-ins.
