Martinez - Hispania Black GT + Housse

The body of the MARTINEZ Hispania Black GT conceals two cavities carved beneath the flamed maple top – a chambered design that lightens the overall structure without compromising on the solid top. The cutaway provides direct access to the upper frets, a design feature typically found on guitars designed for solo playing. Beneath the glossy Black GT PU finish, the body measures 46 millimetres thick, with a width of 264 millimetres at the top, 229 millimetres at the waist and 357 millimetres at the bottom.

The neck and back are both made from the same mahogany, a wood that retains its stability despite temperature fluctuations between the stage and the dressing room. Shaped in a C-profile, the neck accommodates the thumb without any excess material, adjusted as required by a two-way truss rod. Twenty-four frets run along a rosewood fingerboard, where mother-of-pearl inlays guide the fingers in the darkness of an orchestra pit. The 48-millimetre-wide bone nut keeps each nylon string at a distance from its neighbour across a scale length of 650 millimetres, whilst the rosewood bridge houses a piezo pickup in direct contact with the strings.

The SG1 Double Acoustic system manages the signal from the piezo pickup and a body pickup, each controlled by its own volume knob, complemented by a dedicated effects dial. A dual DSP module adds reverb and delay on stage, without the need for additional effects pedals. Three outputs are located on the back of the body: a 6.35-millimetre jack, a 3.5-millimetre headphone output and an OTG-compatible USB-C port; the latter allows direct recording to a computer or smartphone via the supplied USB cable. A rechargeable lithium battery powers the unit.

Whether used as a classical concert guitar or an amplified stage guitar, this Hispania Black GT comes protected by transparent adhesive films applied to the top and is transported in its dedicated AC-MGB25 gig bag.
