Novastar - Card MVR 2x RJ45 / 1x HDMI 1.3- H Series

The NovaStar Card MVR 2x RJ45 / 1x HDMI 1.3 – H Series preview card serves a different purpose to cards dedicated to video input or distribution; its primary function is to provide visual feedback on the system’s operation. When installed in an H2, H5, H9 or H15 chassis, this monitoring card allows the input and output signals to be monitored, so that the operator can check exactly what is being processed and distributed by the processor.

For monitoring that is directly accessible in the control room, the HDMI 1.3 output allows an external monitor to be connected. This provides the operator with a dedicated display without having to divert one of the system’s main video outputs. This connection can be particularly useful during configuration, testing or diagnostic phases, when several sources are being used simultaneously.

The monitoring card also features two RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports. When connected to the installation’s network, they provide access to remote monitoring functions. Monitoring is therefore not limited to the screen located near the chassis: information can be viewed from a workstation connected to the same network, making it easier to monitor equipment installed in a technical rack or in a less accessible area.

This dual approach – local and network-based – provides greater flexibility for supervising the NovaStar system. HDMI is used for immediate visual monitoring, whilst the Ethernet interfaces provide the connection to the network infrastructure and monitoring tools. The card can therefore be used with both a video control room and a fixed LED wall or video wall installation requiring regular monitoring of sources and outputs.
