Novastar - Taurus T-30

The Novastar Taurus T-30 takes a particularly integration-focused approach; rather than housing its electronics in a standalone chassis, it takes the form of a printed circuit board just 25 mm high. This design allows it to be installed directly into compatible equipment or in a protected technical space, provided that the installation is adapted to accommodate electronics without a housing.

Despite its compact size, the Taurus T-30 combines several functions, thereby avoiding the need for multiple devices around the LED screen. It acts as a multimedia player, a transmitter card and a scaling device all in one. It can handle up to 650,000 pixels, with a maximum input resolution of 1,920 × 1,080. Content can be stored in its 16 GB internal memory and transferred via Ethernet or USB.

Processing is handled by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, supported by 1 GB of RAM. Novastar provides several software tools for operation, including NovaLCT, ViPlex Express, ViPlex Handy and VNNOX. Control can also be carried out via Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a 4G mobile network when an optional module is used. Wi-Fi operates in both AP and STA modes.

Two RJ45 ports provide the connection to the LED screen and can be configured to function as primary or backup outputs. The T-30 also features two dedicated inputs for light and temperature sensors, enabling the retrieval of information useful for system operation.

Power is supplied at 5 V DC, with a stated power consumption of 18 W. Measuring 165 × 135 × 25 mm and weighing just 213 g, this board provides a particularly space-saving integration platform for small LED display systems.
