Presentation
The sE Electronics sE4100 uses the proven architecture of the 4400 series in a simplified cardioid version, with a clear positioning: to offer a large-diaphragm condenser microphone that is efficient, reliable and directly usable in a wide range of situations.
At its heart is a hand-crafted, gold-plated, 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule. This type of design maintains a homogeneous and stable response, with natural reproduction of transients and good tonal balance. On lead vocals, the sE4100 delivers accurate reproduction, with controlled highs and clear midrange, without artificial emphasis.
On instruments, its behaviour remains consistent. On drum overheads, it picks up cymbals with finesse while maintaining a usable overall image of the kit. On a guitar amp or acoustic guitar, it adds detail without becoming aggressive, making it easy to integrate into a mix. It can also be used on strings, brass or piano, with a faithful, structured reproduction.
The mic incorporates switchable low-cut filters at 80 and 160 Hz, useful for controlling unwanted low frequencies, as well as -10 and -20 dB attenuation pads for handling loud sources. This flexibility means it can be used for both close miking and ensemble recording.
Its metal construction and supplied suspension are designed for regular use, both in the studio and live. The sE4100 remains a versatile tool, easy to integrate into different configurations, with a clean, controlled sound signature.
