The Golden Age Audio FC4 MC has been designed as a simple, effective and musical tool to cover a wide range of recording situations, without unnecessary complexity. Based on discrete, low-noise, transformerless Class A electronics, it delivers clear, fast and balanced sound, while retaining the warmth expected of a serious studio microphone.

Its special feature is its interchangeable capsule system. The FC4 MC comes with three separate heads, each fitted with a 20 mm diaphragm gilded with 3 micron gold. The cardioid capsule is ideal for close miking and isolated sources, the hypercardioid capsule offers better lateral rejection for more complex environments, while the omnidirectional capsule captures the ambience and depth of a room with naturalness.

This microphone is particularly at home on acoustic and electric guitars, piano, strings, percussion, amplifiers and ambient pick-up. Thanks to its built-in high-pass filter and -10 dB pad, it can also handle high sound levels without saturation, making it even more versatile.
