Novastar - Card OUT 4x Fibre (10G) - H Series

The Novastar Card OUT 4x Fibre (10G) – H Series transmitter card is used in the distribution section of an LED video system fitted with an H Series chassis. It converts the processor’s output capabilities into four separate optical links, enabling data to be routed to different points on an LED wall or to fibre converters such as the CVT10S and CVT4KS.

Each OPT port features a 10G SFP+ interface and can carry up to 5.2 million pixels with 8-bit processing. The four outputs combined thus bring the card’s maximum capacity to 20.8 million pixels. Support for up to 10-bit processing also allows for a higher colour depth to be maintained when the video configuration requires it.

Another advantage of this architecture is the ability to manage each link separately. An output can be used as an independent port, but can also be configured to act as a duplicate or provide a backup function. This flexibility allows the distribution of signals to be adapted to the system’s organisation and enables alternative paths to be provided when multiple devices need to be supplied with data.

The Novastar output card supports optical modules designed for both single-mode and multi-mode transmission. With the appropriate modules, data can travel up to 10 km, making it possible to physically separate the control room, the processor and the display areas without having to use multiple long copper links.

Designed for the NovaStar H2, H5, H9 and H15 video wall switches, the Card OUT 4x Fibre fits directly into an output card slot in the chassis. The four single-mode 10G SFP+ modules are supplied and pre-installed, providing immediate access to the optical interfaces required to set up the link.
