Yamaha's TRBX 204 Galaxy Black is a 4-string electric bass that combines a sober aesthetic with an accessible design. Its lightweight, responsive basswood body is combined with a screw-down maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, for fluid playing across all 24 frets. The standard 34-inch pitch gives good note definition, even in the lower registers.
There's a single-coil configuration with a splittable neck pickup, both with ceramic magnets. This choice allows you to explore clear tones or those with more midrange, depending on your playing style. The active electronics include a 2-band equaliser (bass and treble), a master volume and a balance selector between the pickups, providing a good level of control without complexity.
The vintage-style bridge and moulded tuning machines ensure stable tuning. With its high-gloss Galaxy Black finish and chrome hardware, this model is ideal for bassists who want a versatile instrument that's easy to pick up and suitable for a variety of musical contexts.
