Novastar - Card IN 1x 12G-SDI - H Series

An SDI link can be used to feed a LED system directly, but it may also need to be routed on to a control room, a recorder, a monitor or other video equipment. The NovaStar Card IN 1x 12G-SDI – H Series is an input card designed for this configuration, featuring a 12G-SDI input alongside a loop-through output capable of relaying the received signal.

The input supports several generations of SDI formats. 12G-SDI allows for a maximum resolution of 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, whilst compatibility with 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI enables the integration of video sources with different bit rates. The ST-2082-1, ST-2081-1, ST-424, ST-292 and SMPTE 259 standards thus cover a wide range of configurations used in professional video systems.

The 4K resolution at 60 Hz allows the NovaStar Card IN 1x 12G-SDI to be used with high-definition sources intended for large LED screens, without limiting its use solely to UHD feeds. The processing of interlaced 1080i, 576i and 480i signals via deinterlacing also allows sources from older video generations to be retained.

The 12G-SDI Loop output is one of the most practical features of this card. The signal received via the input can be routed directly to another piece of equipment without requiring a second conversion. This output can be used, for example, to daisy-chain a monitor, a recorder or another SDI device whilst retaining the feed used by the NovaStar system.

Compatible with the H Series units (H2, H5, H9 and H15), the input card occupies one input slot and features LED indicators to monitor the signal status. The NovaStar Card IN 1x 12G-SDI can therefore be integrated into an H Series architecture where LED processing needs to coexist with a wider SDI video chain.
